How to avoid SEO scam
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) itself is not a scam, it’s truly necessary to drive visitors from search engines. Search engines as traffic sources are valuable because such traffic is free and targeted. Only one problem – your web site should be ahead of competitors in search engine results page (SERP). I say “page”, not “pages”, because most users only click on first page results.
So, how do we get to the first SERP page ? Answer is simple – by using SEO. On-site and out-of-site SEO. But SEO itself is complicated. Very complicated. Only best companies and experts can achieve top positions. There are many companies and people offering SEO services that do not have the real skills necessary to proper SEO a website. Such “experts” will not only suck your money, they could hurt your site reputation, and even have your website eventually removed from Google’s index entirely! How to know you face a SEO scam ?
- Easiest to spot and very indicative red flag is business slogan of such SEO experts: “First Page Of Google In X Weeks”. No way it’s possible. Ranking is done by Google from time to time, not daily, and nothing can be done to speed up the process. It can take months to get a page ranked and your ranking is also dependent upon other sites rankings. Google article clearly say: “Beware of SEOs that claim to guarantee rankings” .
- SEO scams can show their “achievements” only on low competition “long tail” or rare keywords, extreme example of such keyword and “top1 on google” achievement is shown here.

Hi there, My name is An Chizek , Discovered your incredible web pages ( %BLOGTITLE% ) and thus thought to read the idea fast, definitely not whatever I frequently do but attractive article. Great to see a post which isn’t heaped with spam and rubbish, the truth is, it pays for itself. In either case, impressive post.

My programmer is trying to convince me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the costs. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on a number of websites for about a year and am concerned about switching to another platform. I have heard great things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can import all my wordpress posts into it? Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any trouble with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing a few months of hard work due to no backup. Do you have any methods to stop hackers?

Today, I went to the beach front with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!

If you’re still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you’ll know which is right for you.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
